La Autoridad Metropolitana del Transporte (AMET) precisó que un rebase temerario al conductor de una yipeta de una motocicleta le costó la vida al joven Amaurys Jiménez de 20 años de edad quien era nativo del municipio de Navarrete, el cual chocó de frente con un carro en la carretera Imbert-Altamira, colisión que dejó heridos a los nombrados Francisco Alberto Hernández y Jimmy Eduardo Reyes de 23 y 31 años de edad, respectivamente quienes recibieron atenciones medicas en el hospital municipio de Imbert.
Desde el jueves hasta el Sábado Santo, varios accidentes de tránsito ocurridos en la provincia de Puerto Plata han dejado el saldo de un muerto y decenas de heridos, según han reportado las autoridades que integran el Comité de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE).
En tanto que dos jóvenes resultaron heridos anoche al deslizarse la motocicleta que conducían por la avenida Manolo Tavarez Justo al tratar de pasarse en rojo el semáforo ubicado en la entrada de la urbanización Torre Alta, siendo auxiliados de inmediato por voluntarios de Rescate Ámbar
De igual manera el obrero Pedro Raposo de 55 años de edad fue trasladado al Hospital Ricardo Limardo por una unidad de Rescate Ámbar luego de sufrir un accidente de tránsito en la carretera Puerto Plata-Cofresí, el cual presenta posible fractura del fémur de la pierna derecha además de traumas en la parte frontal del cráneo.
En ese mismo orden fue llevado a la sala de emergencias del Hospital Ricardo Limardo de ésta ciudad Puerto Plata, el nombrado Daniel Bruno de 52 años de edad, residente en el municipio de Sosúa quien fue atropellado por un vehículo hasta el momento desconocido cuando conducía su motocicleta próximo a la Base Aérea de Puerto Plata resultando con golpes y fracturas en diferentes partes de su cuerpo.
Finalmente, otro ciudadano identificado como Jeffrey Cabrera Rodríguez, fue impactado por una yipeta en la carretera Puerto Plata-Maimón, resultando con traumas y heridas en el miembro inferior derecho a nivel de rodilla y herida abierta en el mismo miembro además de laceraciones craneales frontales, el cual fue encontrado tirado en la vía siendo auxiliado por brigadistas de la Cruz Roja que lo llevaron al hospital público de Puerto Plata.
