El embajador dominicano ante la Misión Permanente de la (OEA), Gedeón Santos inauguró la oficina de misión
Washington (EE.UU).- El embajador de República Dominicana ante la Misión Permanente de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA), Gedeón Santos, encabezó el acto de inauguración de las remozadas oficinas de esa delegación diplomática en esta ciudad estadounidense.
Santos tuvo a cargo el discurso de inauguración de dicha oficina, en cuyo acto estuvieron presentes el secretario general de la OEA, Luis Almagro, y el presidente del Consejo Permanente, Carlos Calles.
Santos destacó el proceso de transformación física, política e institucional, "puesto en marcha para elevar a esa misión al más alto nivel, como merece el estado dominicano".
"Eso es lo que hemos hecho aquí, un profundo proceso de transformación física, política e institucional, para conducir a esta misión a la estatura que merece el estado dominicano", dijo.
Agregó que ese proceso ha sido fruto de la planificación del trabajo en todos los órdenes.
"Siempre he creído que un país pequeño y en proceso de desarrollo, con serias limitaciones de recursos y de poder, debe sustituir esas carencias con la planificación", afirmó el funcionario.
En el acto también estuvo presente el general de brigada, piloto Pedro Valenzuela, agregado militar en Estados Unidos y delegado ante la Junta Interamericana de Defensa.
Además, participaron representantes del Sistema de Integración Centroamericano (SICA), y de la Comunidad del Caribe (Caricom).
